Watchet's old harbour, an active port until the 1980's, was converted to a marina a few years ago and with its newly enhanced Esplanade is an attractive destination.
Recent additions to the Esplanade are sculptures of Coleridge's Ancient Mariner and Watchet famous mariner "Yankee Jack" (above), both by respected Scottish sculptor Alan Herriot. Watchet also has an art gallery and local crafts.

Watchet's two museums are both run by helpful volunteers and offer a fascinating look into the history of this port: Watchet Market House Museum and Watchet Boat Museum.

Watchet's small but thriving village center offers a variety of interesting shops, services and boutiques, including Celtic Dreams, Country Matters, Albert's 'Ardware, Corner Collection and much more.

Watchet's West beach is an interesting stony beach perfect for paddling, rock pooling of fossil hunting.
